Coastline Wildfire Prevention 501(c)(3)

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to reduce the chance of wildfires in our neighborhoods through an ongoing maintenance program to remove dry, overgrown brush from vacant lots.

How It Works
In January 2025, the Palisades Fire burned down nearly 80% of the homes in some Malibu and Pacific Palisades neighborhoods. Since then, some displaced homeowners find it difficult to afford the cost of clearing dry brush from their vacant lots. Our program will use donations to clear the lots and thus have a safer neighborhood as residents move back in.
Identify Lots to Clear
Our nonprofit will coordinate with local Homeowners Associations and Neighborhood groups to identify lots which may be the largest risk for fire. We will also look to prioritize landowners who are senior citizens or those experiencing financial hardship due to the loss of their homes.
Hire Local Landscapers
We will use donations to engage with local landscapers who are familiar with our neighborhoods. These landscapers lost a substantial portion of their businesses due to the fires. This program will provide them additional business as they re-establish themselves. Our goal is to start with five landscapers and take turns providing them opportunities to keep our neighborhood safer.
